Children's Privacy
Sprout Chores is built for families. Parents create and manage child profiles, and kids are not asked directly for personal information. We do not ask kids for last names, addresses, phone numbers, school, location, photos, email addresses, microphones, or contacts.
A parent or guardian provides consent by creating the family account, entering child profile details, and approving any child join request. Parents can review, correct, or request deletion of child information at any time.
What We Collect
- Parent email, display name, and sign-in identifier for account access.
- Family name, settings, chore lists, reward items, goals, and activity records.
- Child display name, age, avatar choices, and hashed PIN when entered by a parent.
- Device push tokens when notifications are enabled.
- Optional diagnostics or crash reports if a parent enables diagnostics in settings.
Why We Collect It
- To create and protect family accounts.
- To show chores, approvals, rewards, goals, virtual coins, and garden progress.
- To send optional chore, approval, reward, and family activity notifications.
- To provide support, troubleshoot problems, and honor deletion requests.
What We Do Not Collect
- No real-money payment data. Sprout Coins are virtual.
- No child bank accounts or debit cards.
- No third-party advertising or behavioral ad tracking.
- No default analytics collection for children.
- No precise location, photo library access, microphone access, or contacts.
Sharing And Service Providers
We do not sell personal information. We use service providers such as Apple and Firebase/Google Cloud to run sign-in, app data storage, push notifications, cloud functions, and optional parent-enabled diagnostics. These providers process data only to provide the app infrastructure.
Security And Family Access
Family data is scoped to the family account. Families can see their own household data, but not another family's data. Child PINs are stored as hashes rather than plain text.
Privacy Choices And Deletion
Parents can ask to access, correct, export, or delete family data by contacting privacy@sproutchores.app. Deletion requests should use the subject line "Delete My Family Data." We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
Parent Rights
- Parents can request a copy of family data.
- Parents can ask us to correct or delete family data.
- Parents can withdraw consent for a child profile by removing that profile or contacting us.

If this policy changes meaningfully, we will update this page and, when appropriate, notify the family owner in the app.
